FEED IN TARIFFS FOR BIOMASS

Since the introduction of Law 3851 in 2010, the electricity generated by biomass power plants is sold to the grid according to a supportive feed in tariff system and under 20-year Power Purchase Agreements.

Capacity With subsidies Without subsidies
≤1MW  €200/MWh €230/MWh
>1MW≤5MW €200/MWh €201.2/MWh
>5MW €150/MWh €172.5/MWh

TURBODEN BIOMASS PLANTS | FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

Due to this pricing structure, financial results in biomass power plants are particularly sensitive to the actual operating hours and the resulting overall electricity generation.

Essentially a function of availability and reliability, operating hours and electricity generation are operational fields where Turboden excels. Turboden ORC units in biomass plants have a remarkable track record, demonstrating an availability which often exceeds 98% and translates to more than 8000 operating hours per year and electricity generation figures well above 8000MWh per MWe of installed capacity.

Furthermore, in addition to the availability proven in the field by more than 200 operating biomass plants, investors can opt for the contractual certainty of the 95% availability guarantee provided in Turboden's Optiturbo maintenance package (click here  for more details).

Turboden’s track record in delivering peak performance and unparallel availability in hundreds of operating power plants, combined with contractual guarantees, not only support project bankability and facilitate access to financing, but most importantly offer an investment opportunity of compelling returns.

INMIS' EPC SERVICES & BIOMASS PLANT DESIGN OPTIONS

Turboden’s ORC units operate essentially as a plug and play device, consistently delivering the expected electric and thermal output and performance when provided with thermal input values as specified.

While Turboden ORC units are effectively boiler agnostic, selecting the appropriate thermal oil boiler for each application is critical for reaching peak plant performance, reliability and availability especially when dealing with technically challenging biomass fuels.

INMIS has established partnerships with leading thermal oil boiler suppliers and offers the full range of EPC services at the highest quality standards as set by Turboden’s ORC technology.

INMIS' PROJECT ANALYSIS TOOL

The financial performance of each biomass project is contingent upon several project specific parameters.

INMIS has developed software tools to support its customers in assessing project feasibility at early stages according to the characteristics specific to each case.
